It is not just fashion pundits who keep a watch on celebrity wardrobe, even shareholders of companies keep tabs on what head honchos wear at annual general meetings. This was evident at Tata Consultancy Services’ AGM held the previous week at Birla Matushri hall. During the interactive session, a lady shareholder made an interesting observation. She told TCS chairman Ratan Tata that his outfit was the same as the one he wore in a photograph published in the company’s annual report (it was a black suit with a blue tie). “I request you to change your dress code for the forthcoming meetings of the group,” said Ashalatha Maheshwari, a long-time shareholder, known for reciting couplets, often embarrassing the shy bachelor chairman. The next lady shareholder, who spoke at the meeting, didn’t agree with Maheshwari. She said that Tata should, in fact, wear the same suit again. To which, Tata replied, “You won’t be able to take the smell,” leaving the audience in splits.
